Sports News – Friday 12th November


On Wednesday, the junior football team from Pres Tralee played Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne in Annascaul.

In an enthralling game of high quality football, Pres Tralee came out on top by the slim margin of 2 points. There were some top class performers from the Tralee side which included students from first year through to Transition year in this under 16.5 age grade of the Munster LGFA Schools competition.

Scores from Aoife Barrett (captain), Orla Ó'Connor, Jill Quirke, Ella Quirke and Saoirse Mehigan sealed the victory for the Pres Tralee.

The final score was 4-6 to 3-7.

Pres Tralee's next fixture in the competition will be against Kenmare at 12pm in Tralee on Monday 22 November.


Our Junior Camogie team invited our neighbours Gaelcholaiste Chiarrai to play a friendly match Thursday in preparation for the Munster Novice Blitz to be held next Wednesday in Mallow. Thank you to Gaelcholaiste it was great to see camogie being played on the school green!


TYs are into their third week of a tennis coaching course with the Tralee Tennis Club. The students are really enjoying learning a new sport and it is hoped they will use their new skills to teach the junior students.


The under 16s and under 19s basketball teams played in their first fixture of the year this week against Gaelcholaiste Chiarrai. The girls were delighted to be back in action especially sporting their brand new Jerseys!
