12 teams participated in the Kerry Secondary Schools Development Blitz held in Mounthawk, Tralee on Thursday 28th of November. Through cold and blustery conditions our girls had an excellent performance under the encouragement and guidance of Ms. Sheehy. The Pres girls (a squad of 18) overcame every opponent they faced, including teams from Presentation Listowel, Mounthawk, Castleisland and the Gaelcholaiste. The team faced a strong Mounthawk 1 side in the semi-final. In an exciting final of skillful and intense camogie, our girls overcame Mounthawk 2 with a scoreline of 3-2 to 0-0. Ms. Sheehy commended the team on their excellent performance and team spirit. Captain Clodagh Begley accepted the plate from Laura Collins.
The squad included: Sandra Marshall, Clodagh O’Sullivan, Amy McCarthy, Amy Corridan, Bronnagh Kelliher, Aoife Foran, Shona O’Connor, Alice O’Connell, Saorlaith Moore, Sarah Cantillon, Rebecca O’Sullivan, Cara Cullen, Katherine Quilter, Chloe Gleeson, Kayleigh Costello, Sarah Barrett, Chloe Griffin and Clodagh Begley.
A huge thanks to Laura Collins Nolan on organising a fantastic camogie filled day. Appreciation is also given to Mounthawk for the use of their facilities and referees on the day.
