Here in Presentation Secondary School we ask parents to made a voluntary contribution towards the school where possible. This contribution is used to fund special projects within the school.
Your Parental Contribution 2018-2019 paid for:
Additional computer upgrades – including animation and coding software and peripherals as well as two new mobile computer labs and new computers for Technical Graphics. The school spent in excess of €40,000 over the department of Education IT grant this summer.
School Painting and decorating – our main corridor was painted this summer and new display boards have been hung in the corridor.
School Signage – new signs were erected around the entrances to the school
Subject Materials – we want to cut down on the cost of 1st yr for parents so we have purchased class sets of books for our optional subjects. Students will not buy books or subject kits until after they have made their final subject choice in October.
Your Parental Contribution 2019-2020 will help to pay for:
Corridor Furniture – with the introduction of teacher based classrooms bag racks and additional school benches are currently on order.
School Painting and decorating – the remaining school corridors will be painted over the next two months and new display boards will be hung. It is hoped to renovate all the student bathrooms next summer.
School Gates – subject to planning permission, it is hoped to extend the outer gates to the school to allow for improved access to the school for all but in particular for emergency vehicles at peak times. It is hoped to open a pedestrian entrance beside the second entrance gate so that our students can access the school with increased safety. It is also hoped to open a pedestrian access for students at the back of the school to increase the safety of students from this school and CBS The Green who travel between both schools as part of our school co-operation scheme.
School Painting and decorating – our main corridor was painted this summer and new display boards have been hung in the corridor. – it is hoped to improve the school heating system for the comfort of students during the summer of 2020.
We are asking all parents who can to consider paying the parental contribution so that these worthwhile projects can happen.
Sincere thanks go to all of you who support the school through paying the parental contribution
