Congratulations are in order yet again for Pres. Tralee student Palesa Hlongwane who is in the Senior category of the National Poetry Aloud Final 2021. Palesa won the Junior title of the same competition in the National Library of Ireland in 2019 when she was in second year. This year Palesa recites Brendan Kennelly’s poem ‘Begin’ and ‘Easter 1916’ by W.B Yeats. This year’s final is one with a difference with competitors sending in recordings of their recitations to the National Library and Poetry Ireland. ‘There is something distinctively magical in Palesa’s voice when she recites a poem. We are all rooting for Palesa and wish her the best of luck’, commented Principal Chrissie Kelly.
