Kerry School & Colleges Cross Country

January 23, 2019

Kerry Schools & Colleges Cross Country Event – Killarney 18th January 2019

A number of students from 1st Year, 2nd Year and 4th Year braved the cold conditions of The Demesne in Killarney at the Kerry Schools and Colleges Cross Country competition. Filled with enthusiasm, the Minor Girls began with the first race of the day of 1500 metres. The Junior Girls followed with a longer race of 2000 metres. Finally, a tough Intermediate race consisting of 2500 metres was the final event for the Pres Tralee girls. Those who participated gave a valiant effort in cross country racing, a new sport to the majority. Enthusiasm levels were very high which showed as students consistently encouraged one another.

Pres Tralee were prosperous in the Intermediate category with Niamh O’ Mahoney achieving 1st and Eimear O Sullivan accomplishing 4th. Both girls proudly accepted their medals and showed great alliance in encouraging one another, although being in competition.

The school would like to commend the students on great effort and school spirit shown. The next cross country event will take place on Thursday the 24th of January in Pallaskenry, Co. Limerick for the North Munster School competition.
