Testimonials

Georgia - Italy

I am an Italian exchange student and when I started school here I was very confused because everything was different to the way we do things in Italian schools. In Italy the teacher moves class, we don't have lockers and mostly the exams are completely different. But in Presentation I found extremely pleasant teachers that helped me and the other girls to figure out how everything works.

One beautiful thing I found about this school is the organisation of material and the well-equipped classrooms. In each room there are laptops and computers and in practical classes like Art and Biology we had access to all the materials we need.

The teachers are pretty wonderful, and they listen and help us out in every kind of situation. They encourage us to find our best skills and then support us to focus on those skills so we can grow and develop.

The school is excellent and prepares students for the adult world and for the future. You can learn a lot in this school and grow up too.

Camilla - Italy

I am an Italian exchange student, and I came to Ireland in August. I'm in 5th year. The first days that I spent here I was very afraid because everything was new. However, before long, I found very nice people in school who helped me.

The first thing that I found difficult was the language because I didn't speak English very well. I'm still improving my language, but I'm more confident because the teachers helped me so much.

I find Presentation Secondary School a very lively place because this school offers a lot of activities and very interesting sports. You can practise your sports at lunchtime or after school.

Another thing that I find interesting are the subjects, because there are the practical subjects as well as theory subjects. In Biology we do experiments, and in Home Economics we can cook. I think the school offers a lot of opportunity for students.

In conclusion, I think Presentation Secondary School is a very nice place filled with very helpful people.

Lucia - Spain

Hi my name is Lucia and I'm from Spain. I am a TY student.

My experience doing TY was very interesting mostly because we don't have this year in Spain.  I was a bit confused in the beginning. In my opinion TY is a very useful and creative year where I got to experience new things and go outside my comfort zone. All the students and teachers were very helpful and supportive with me all the time. I have improved a lot my English since I came to Pres.

Paula - Germany

One thing that I like here in the school is that there are very so many different subjects. At home I have normal subjects like English, Maths, History and so on but here I also have DCG and business. I like that, especially DCG as it is a practical subject and it's fun to do.

Before my first day of school here in Ireland, I thought that the language would be hard, but I could understand every teacher from the beginning. That was very good, but I think my English has also improved a lot in the last months too.

Another thing that was really good is that there are many exchange students in my year. We could talk about how it feels to be an exchange student and we became friends very fast.

Mar- Spain

Hi I'm Mar and I come from Spain. I have been at Pres since September, and I am here on an exchange for the whole year doing the TY programme. My opinion of these experience is positive. I think is a great opportunity to make friends, speak English, try new things and of course learn a lot. At the beginning of this new experience it is difficult to leave home, but when the days pass you get used to it and you enjoy everything.

Aurora- Italy

I'm Aurora. I am an Italian student. I'm one of the exchange students at Presentation Secondary School.

Honestly, at the beginning I did not understand how things would work here because obviously people have very different habits, and the education system is very different to the Italian one. But don't worry, you'll get used to it very quickly when you're attending the school. Everyone here is so welcoming. There are lots of activities that you can do that will help you to make friends and have fun. The school is quite modern and well equipped.

I think school is a fundamental part of the exchange experience. Coming to school should be a pleasure and even though you will meet obstacles, you'll enjoy it.

You will improve your English a lot in Pres too- before you even realise it!
