We finished our term in Pres today with lovely Christmas Carol and Prayer Services organised by the TY class. The services allowed us all an opportunity to find stillness and the true Christmas message amid all the hubbub of our Christmas Week. I would like to thank all the students and their teachers for the work involved in running the services.
There was also cause for celebration as our Junior Cycle students of June 2019 received their Junior Cycle Profiles of Achievement. Well done to all our students and to their teachers and SNAs on truly exceptional results.
Christmas vouchers were presented to students from each year for participation in the ‘Every Day Counts’ programme in November. Thanks to Mrs Kelly and all the Year Heads for their work in running the programme and organising the presentations today.
A check for €1,200 was presented to Kerry Comfort for Chemo, which is an organisation set up to ensure maximum comforts for patients from Kerry undergoing Chemotherapy. Students sold cookies, held a Christmas Jumper day and also ran a Christmas Market. Our sincere thanks to the teachers involved in helping students run the events and raise such a large donation.
Paddy Kivane and his team visited the school today to collect the hampers collected for the Vincent de Paul Christmas food appeal. Huge thanks to all who donated and to the staff and students who organised this years event.
