Barcelona 2025

49 students and 6 teachers left Tralee at 01.30 on Wednesday 19th March to enjoy four fun and activity filled days around Barcelona city.
Culture, science, art, sport, sightseeing along with leisurely activities like bowling, boat trip and a visit to the beach!

Two new activities were included this year based on feedback from last year: MOCO museum and Flamenco dancing. Both were amazing and the girls (and teachers) learned some cool Spanish dance moves!!

The students learned how to follow the subway – including the fun when we got on the wrong train! They were given time to explore the city independently and this is of vital importance to them for any other trip they take.
Visiting historic sites provided students with a hands-on educational experience that goes beyond what they can learn in a classroom.

The Science Museum proved to be a big hit: it allowed students to interact and take a unique perspective on all thing science. They even got to walk through the ‘rain forest.’

Students had the opportunity to experience and learn about Catalan culture first-hand. Barcelona is known for its delicious food, including tapas, paella, and seafood. Students can try new foods and learn about the importance of food in culture.

Traveling to a foreign country requires students to experience navigating new environments, adapting to new situations, and making decisions independently, which helps build their self-confidence and independence. They also increased cultural awareness and understanding through experiencing new cultures, customs, and ways of life, which can broaden their perspectives and increase their empathy and understanding of others.
New friendships were formed, memories made which will remain with them forever.
