The Board of Management has been served strike notice for Tuesday 4th February 2020 by the Teachers Union of Ireland (TUI).
As a number of staff in this school belong to the TUI, should the strike not be resolved before that date, the Board will not be in a position to discharge its duty of care to all students on that day.
For that reason, the Board is asking you not to send your daughter to school on Tuesday 4th February, with the exception of 6th yr students who will be sitting the first paper of their mocks on Tuesday morning.
Leaving Cert students must be signed out should they wish to study at home in the afternoon or have submitted a letter of permission, to their Year Head, allowing them to study at home when not sitting their mock papers. Supervised study will be provided for 6th yr students who wish to remain in school until 3.45 p.m However, we are not in a position to hold supervised study for any students from 4.00 – 6.00pm that evening.
The planned Parent –Teacher meeting for parents/guardians of 2nd yr students will take place. Appointments will take place from 4.15pm with last appointments commencing at 6.15pm – any parent wishing to attend should be in school between those times. Should any parent wish to speak with the Principal or Deputy Principal or other teachers they can leave a request for an appointment time with the front desk on the evening
Thank you for your support in this matter.
