Congratulations to Nicole Walker who won a Kerry Garda Youth Achievement Award on Friday night at the Ballyroe Heights Hotel. Nicole was nominated by Garda Mary Gardiner.
Nicole was recognised for her role as a sprint athlete with An Riocht Athletic Club in Castleisland. For a young athlete Nicole always displays a real passion and a professional attitude for athletics on and off the track.
Nicole competes in the 60m, 100m, 200m and has won a total of 12 medals representing her club An Riocht AC and her school Presentation Secondary in Tralee in National, Munster and County.
Nicole is an integral part of the An Riocht coaching team, at 15 years Nicole started sharing her enthusiasm for athletics and started coaching the younger athletes of the club.
Nicole is a role model and an inspiration to the younger athletes in An Riocht Athletic Club and is instilling in the younger athletes the same passion she has for the sport of athletics.
Not only has Nicole competed for the school with great pride in athletics she has also represented Pres as a safer Internet ambassador for the Webwise Internet Safety Day 2022, winning a National Award for her campaign. In TY she represented the school at The Kerry Student Enterprise Awards taking home The Creative Video Award for her project Recharge Nutrition– based on nutrition and exercise an app for athlete performance. She was also appointed Sales and Marketing Manager for the Bank of Ireland school bank!
