School Mission Statement
‘Presentation Secondary School is a community of staff, students, parents and management pursuing excellence in all its educational undertakings.’
The development and enhancement of school facilities and programmes is an ongoing need of the school. In particular, the provision of up to date and fit-for-purpose Computer and IT facilities is critical to the education of our students for life in a modern society. Our current school building opened in the 1980s and although it has been well-maintained and developed since then, we are conscious of the need to consistently modernise and upgrade the physical infrastructure to support student learning.
A major fundraising drive in the 2016-2017 school year has a two-fold purpose:
- The provision of an outdoor classroom space in the form of a poly-tunnel which will cater for student education in the areas of horticulture and ecology with an emphasis on sustainable living, biodiversity and associated Green School projects such as rainwater harvesting.
- The second major area for development in the current year is the provision of wireless infrastructure and modern devices to support the use of IT throughout the curriculum. Funds raised will be used to supplement any government funding available to ensure that our students and teachers have access to the best tools possible in their pursuit of educational excellence.
We welcome the support of students and parents – past and present – together with corporate sponsorship and individual donations to assist in the ongoing upgrade of educational facilities in our school. Any donation that you can make to our school will be greatly appreciated and will support the excellent tradition that has been the hallmark of Presentation education in Tralee throughout the last two centuries.
Thank you for your support!
