TY students participate in public art exhibitions and get involved in the design and making of art that supports and celebrates key events in the school such as the Leaving Cert Graduation Mass, Positive Mental Health, Seachtain na Gaeilge and Love Literature Week.
Transition Years prepare for the leaving Certificate program through gallery visits including the National Gallery in Dublin and Siamsa Tire Gallery in Tralee. Practical skills of drawing, use of colour, composition, graphics through individual and group work in Print Making, Mural painting, Stop Motion Animation and Mask Making.
TY Art students worked on painting mural panels during the Easter Holidays and when done Colm installed the panels in the Assembly area. The whole TY class submitted individual ideas in September and a team of about 16 students worked on planning, measuring, designing etc. . The panels are inspired by the idea of a tree which connects with a tree visible in the central courtyard , the school garden and 3 lanterns to reflect the Lantern symbol associated with Pres Tralee and Nano Nagle.

The school shop was transformed this week by 4th year Art students - well done to all! We also have a new Green door in the Assembly area.
